Larry George Lorigan, 71, of Kittanning, passed away on January 30, 2016 at ACMH Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

He was born on December 11, 1944 in Applewold to George and Mary Alice (Salsgiver) Lorigan. Larry was a lifelong resident of Kittanning. After graduating from Kittanning High School in 1962, he enlisted in the Navy in 1965. After being honorably discharged, he graduated from New Castle Business College in 1971 with an Associates Degree in Accounting and Business Administration. He then joined the Kittanning Police force and while working, he earned his Associates and Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He then moved to the Armstrong County Probation Department where he became the chief Probation Officer for 20 years. Larry also coached Little League and was a basketball coach for many years.

Larry was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kittanning. He was also a member of Kittanning Country Club and the Kittanning Elks, where he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Larry is survived by his wife of 44 years: Carol Kirkwood Lorigan; a daughter: Erin Futscher and her husband Jimmy; son: Kirk Lorigan and his wife Devin of Kittanning; seven grandchildren: Alexa Futscher, Noah Spang, Liam Spang, Madisyn Lorigan, Maci Lorigan, Mylee Lorigan, and Sadie Futscher; two brothers: Dan Lorigan (JoAnn) of Kittanning and Jerry Lorigan (Elise) of Clarksville, TN; and a sister: Marci Patton (Jack) of New Bethlehem; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Tommy, Rocky, and Logan; two sisters: Kate Foster and Lynne Lamison; and two nieces: Jodie Jordan and Amy Lorigan.

Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM on Monday and Tuesday, February 1-2, 2016 at the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, Kittanning. Additional visitation will be from 10AM until the time of a funeral service at 11AM on Wednesday in the First Baptist Church in Kittanning with the Reverend Ken Thompson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Wounded Warriors Project.
