Pennsylvania State Police troopers and Ford City Police officers were on alert last night as they tried to track down a wanted robber and burglar.

At about 7PM, the wanted male allegedly assaulted and robbed a female of a cell phone.

While the spelling of the individual could not be verified with police, the 26-year-old African-American suspect was identified to other local police units through a driver’s license number, clothing and date of birth.

The alleged also was described as having tattoos on both arms and his chest. Yesterday evening, he was seen wearing a red T-shirt and black shorts.

Officers were notified that the accused may be violent and should exercise caution.

The male also is said to have ran from officers during the search.

The accused male also is said to have an active warrant through the Kittanning barracks of the Pennsylvania State Police.

The search intensified about 10PM, after a traffic stop along 7th Avenue reportedly involved a vehicle which transported the wanted man earlier in the day.

As many as five State Police units and a Ford City officer were spotted in the 500 block of Ford City last night reportedly looking for this individual in different clothing.

A pair of State units searched in the 1100 block of 5th Avenue – near the Ford City High School gymnasium - while two were in the area of 1200 block of 7th Avenue.

Police also attempted to ‘ping’ the alleged male’s cell phone with the help of AT&T to try and find a cell tower close to the male’s location

State troopers cleared the 4th Avenue location shortly after 11PM.
