OBIT: Clarence Vernon Ayers (Kittanning)

Clarence Vernon Ayers, 87 of Kittanning, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015 in ACMH Hospital.

She was born October 18, 1922 to Charles and Ethel Ayers.

He was in the restaurant business all his life including the Country Manor in Butler and the Isalys in Kittanning.

Clarence was a longtime member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Kittanning.

He was a former member of BPOE #203 in Kittanning and the Lions Club.

Clarence raised and sold Collie dogs and loved the restaurant business.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ayers; two daughters: Barbara (Tom) Thorp of Barco, North Carolina and Debra (Nicholas) Moskal of Weirton, West Virginia; son, Charles (Pam) Ayers of Sarver; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three step-children; and brother, Richard Ayers, of Texas.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9PM tomorrow - Thursday, July 23, 2015 - at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.

Additional visitation will be offered from 10AM until the time of funeral services at 11AM Friday, July 24, 2015 at the funeral home, with the Rev. John W. Snyder officiating.

Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
