OBIT: Ronald J. Branan (Rural Valley)

Ronald Joseph Branan, 66, of Rural Valley, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Alle Kiski Medical Center Life Care Hospice.

He was born on August 19, 1948 to Frank and Doris (Campbell) Branan in Kittanning.

Ronald worked as a coal miner for Cannel Coal Co. in Distant.

Ronald was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Navy.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Ethel; two sons: Ronald Stacie Branan of Spring Church and Jason Yvonne Branan of Indiana, Pa.; three daughters: Tracey Branan of Rural Valley, Heather (Matthew) Good of Dayton and Angel (Richard) Claypoole of Kittanning; three brothers: William Branan of Germany, Gary Branan of Adrian and Kenneth Branan of Home, Pa.; three sisters: Evie Ann Lamaster of West Virginia, Virginia Claypool of Ford City and Karen Turek of Ford City; and six grandchildren: Dylan, Dakota, Zaryn, Piper, Kiley and Finnegan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia Shank; and two brothers: Lester and Robert Branan.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM tomorrow - Saturday, May 16, 2015 - at the NuMine Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Justin Lamison officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund.
