OBIT: Jed W. Shrecengost (Kittanning)

Jed W. Schrecengost, 49, of Kittanning, died at his residence on April 21, 2015.

He was born on January 8, 1966 in Kittanning to Homer and the late Shirley (Wilson) Schrecengost.

Jed was the co-owner of Schrecengost Family Hair Salon. He enjoyed buying, remodeling, and flipping houses.

He attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Kittanning. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog, Mugsy.

He is survived by his wife of 26-1/2 years: Shari (Hidinger) Schrecengost; son: Justin Schrecengost of Kittanning; daughter: Kayla Schrecengost of Kittanning; father: Homer Schrecengost and wife Shirley of Kittanning; brother: Jack Schrecengost of Cooks Forest, PA, and Jay Schrecengost and wife Joyce of Kittanning; sister: Jill Meyer and husband Gary of Manorville; mother-in-law: Donna Hidinger of Kittanning; grandmother: Twila Shankle; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews; and three uncles.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Shirley Schrecengost; and father-in-law: Jacob Hidinger.

Friends will be received from 4PM until the time of a funeral service at 7PM on Friday, April 24, 2015 in the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home in Kittanning. The Reverend Dr. Allyn Ricketts will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
