OBIT: Gregory A. Shay (Fenelton)
Gregory A. Shay, 49, of Fenelton, died Friday, April 17, 2015, at UPMC Shadyside.
He was born June 13, 1965, in Butler to Ron Shay, Sr. and Carol Shay-Boarts.
Gregory was a truck driver for Pennsylvania Roofing System.
He spent a great deal of time in Driftwood, Pa., spotting elk and camping.
Gregory also loved to restore cars and was a very well-known mechanic in the Butler area.
Gregory is survived by his mother, Carol Say-Boarts of Fenelton; daughter, Angela Clemens (and husband, Donald) of Harrisburg; three grandchildren: Jayden, Emma and Derrick;two sisters: Cindy MacDonald of Fenelton and Debrah Weichey (and husband Robert James “BJ”), of Butler; two brothers: Darin Shay (with fiancee, Tiffany Baptiste) of Fenelton and Dennis Shay of Connoquenessing; four stepchildren: Jaime Angert (and husband Zach) of Carbon Center, Sean Hess (and wife Kimmi) of Fenelton, William Hess (and wife Samantha), who is currently serving in the Armed Forces, and Ryan Hess of Fenelton; six stepgrandchildren: Hailee, Katie, Allie, Peyton, Dani and Skylar; five nephews: Robert MacDonald (and wife Tara), Ronald Shay III, James Shay (and wife Kimberly), Koda Weichey and Kayden Weichey; three nieces: Kelly Patterson (and husband Tom), Susan Warner (and husband Jeremy) and Kourtney Jewart (and husband Kevin); several great-nieces and nieces; one great-great-nephew; and one soon-to-be great-great-niece.
Gregory was preceded in death by his father, Ron Shay, Sr.; brother, Ron Shay Jr.; and brother-in-law, Dennis “Mac” MacDonald.
A celebration of life party will be held from 1-8PM Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Happy Hunters Sportsman Club on the Chicora Fenelton Road, with main course and Busch beer provided and potluck welcome.
