OBIT: Polly L. Hilliard (Ford City)

Polly L. Hilliard, 77, of Ford City, died, Sunday, August 22, 2010, at Armstrong County Health Center.

She was born May 7, 1933, in Kittanning, the daughter of Lester and Nellie Elizabeth (Painter) Barnett.

Polly was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Kittanning. She was a secretary for various employers and formerly owned “The Other Place” tavern in Rayburn Twp. Polly had a passion for cooking, and also enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzles. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her son, Layne, and her two dogs, Checkers and Tex.

She is survived by her son, Layne B. Reitler of Kittanning.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Duane and James Barnett.

At the request of her son, funeral services will be privately held.
