Trials Remain Scheduled for Pair Accused in Kittanning Assault

Brandon Patino and Karli Chambers will be going to trial at the Armstrong County Court House in December 2015 and January 2016.

Following criminal conferences, trial dates in the Armstrong County Courthouse have been set for a pair of Indiana County adults charged with entering a Rayburn Township home and assaulting two individuals in June.

Brandon Patino, 34 of Glen Campbell and Karli Chambers, - now 35 - of Smicksburg are accused of hurting both
Michael Giles-Johns, 21 of Kittanning and Kilyn Reed, 19 of Punxsutawney, at approximately 1:15AM Friday, as well as stealing their wallet and purse, respectively –which were filled with about $600 in cash and their mobile phones.

Giles-Johns suffered a minor laceration on the left side of his face, and Reed was treated at ACMH in East Franklin Township for fractures to her vertebrae and multiple contusions and abrasions on her arms, torso and above her right eye.

The two victims, as well as Glenn Rosenberger and his daughter, Kaitlyn, were reportedly watching television when the accused entered and guns were pointed at their foreheads.

According to State Police affidavits, Patino entered the residence first with another unidentified male and struck Reed, demanding drugs and money. Chambers also began kicking and beating Reed before stealing her purse and mobile phone.

Reed – reportedly Patino’s former girlfriend – positively identified Patino and Chambers as two of the people that assaulted and robbed her.

The two accused actors were located in Indiana County the same day as the incident, arraigned, arrested and placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $50,000 straight bond.

Both are accused of multiple counts of felony aggravated assault, felony robbery, misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking, misdemeanor receiving stolen property, and misdemeanor simple assault.

Patino’s trial is tentatively scheduled for January, while Chambers’ would be in December, depending if either plea guilty to the most serious charges before.
