Local Representatives Voted for Emergency Human Services Funding

State Reps. Jeff Pyle (R-Armstrong/Indiana/Butler) and Donna Oberlander (R-Armstrong/Clarion/Forest) voted in favor of emergency funding legislation for schools and vital human services across the state.

But, Pyle expects Governor Tom Wolf to veto these measures.

“After eight months in office, the only thing Gov. Wolf has accomplished is losing two ill-advised court cases and shutting down funding for our children’s education the services for the most vulnerable in our society,” Pyle said in a news release. “One of the biggest problems Wolf has is his tremendous lack of transparency. Elected people can yack all they want about transparency but the proof is in the pudding and right now he’s not offering up even a snackpack.”

Rep. Oberlander was hopeful Gov. Wolf will realize families and students are relying on him to sign the bill.

“The emergency funding we passed in the House is a critical step in helping senior citizens and families relying on social services, college students waiting for financial aid and K-12 students hoping their schools stay open,” Oberlander said. “The impacts of this budget impasse in our communities are growing more desperate with each passing day, and something must be done to help ensure these services continue for those most in need. That’s our job, and we’re stepping up to the plate.”

The legislation, Senate Bills 1000 and 1001, would provide four months of funding for government operations applied retroactively to the beginning of the fiscal year July 1 through October 31.

So, who, again, voted for Tom Wolf - the millionaire riding around in his Joe-average-guy Jeep during his campaign commercials? He told everyone, right in his campaign, that he was going to increase our cost of living. People still voted for him.

And, just what did the republicans accomplish during their 4 years, ‘at bat’, with governor Tom Corbett?

News release? This isn’t even worthy of the space it is printed on. Why wouldn’t they sign it?
Really Mr. Pyle, I think you are one snack-pack short of a full package. What a way to attempt to show some level of intelligence. SMH
Trying to make yourself look good? Epic fail.
