Teacher Aide Accused in Sex Scandal with Student
The Armstrong School District administration is busy sorting out two incidents last week at the Kittanning Junior High and Senior High schools.
According to an Armstrong School District news release, administrators and their solicitor are investigating a personnel matter involving allegations of sexual misconduct between a school district teacher aide and a high school student.
The school district denounced the conduct as “unacceptable and inappropriate.”
The district solicitor, Pennsylvania State Police, and Kittanning Borough Police all are involved of the ongoing investigation.
The administration and solicitor held an informal hearing with the employee and the employee’s union representative on Friday, April 9, 2010.
It is alleged that the 42-year-old aide committed sexual acts with a 17-year-old high school boy on April 6. According to unnamed sources, the act was photographed on the boy’s cell phone.
Effective immediately, the teacher aide has been suspended without pay, pending further investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police. School district officials are cooperating fully with the law enforcement officials and the parents of the student.
The administration emphasized its commitment to the general welfare and safety of all district students. The school district has no reason to believe any other students were involved in any unacceptable and inappropriate conduct surrounding this incident.
This comes on the heels of an earlier incident involving a 14-year-old boy who is facing suspension after bringing a non-functioning grenade to Kittanning Junior High School last Tuesday.

FYI - It’s scandal, not scandle. Someone must have been asleep in the editing department.

Since it was brought up. It’s not just spelling. In the story entitled “Firemen Called to Fairground Road in Fire Mishap” the article mentioned twice that a “2001 Nissan Saturn” was destroyed in the fire. I’ve never heard of such a car. It must be extremely rare. Now I’ve heard of a Nissan Sentra.

Reply to ToadAshbaugh and ASDpaver; You people amuse me. YOU choose to read this paper – FOR FREE. YOU choose to use this forum provided FREE by the Kittanning Paper to post your views. No other paper in the area provides this service. You accept this, then turn around and criticize the paper for something as simple as a spelling error. I guess you both missed that day of school when the instructor talked about the meaning of the words “gratitude” and “respect”. If you both feel the paper is so bad, then why are you reading it and posting there? Is this how you were raised? Why don’t both of you just read the “other” local daily newspaper with its’ biased articles, poor coverage, and no communicative interaction. And ASDpaver, if you want to talk about mistakes, your explanation of how you came up with the amount of money “saved” by closing Elderton was so ludicrous that I did not even reply to it. Both of you need to grow up and begin to act like adults. And paver, your post was very original, I have not seen anything like that since 2nd grade.
