OBIT: Jack Lamison (Kittanning)
Jack Lamison, 84 of Kittanning, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 in ACMH.
He was born May 5, 1928 in Kittanning to Irvin and Mable (Cornman) Lamison.
Jack previously worked as a laborer for Drexel Refactories.
He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Jack was a lifelong community resident, and was a member of the First Church of Nazarene in Kittanning, the Kittanning Eagles and the Kittanning Men’s Club.
He enjoyed hiking, fishing, going to camp and gardening.
Jack is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia (Shissiver) Lamison of Kittanning; son, Jake Lamison of Ford City; three granddaughters: Stephanie Lamison of New York, Natasha (Chami) Hooks III of New York and Jade (Alan) Wurst of Pittsburgh; grandson, Jacob Lamison of Pittsburgh; two great-granddaughters: Sienna Hooks of Kitanning and Ava Wurst of Pittsburgh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Geroge, William, Charles and James Lamison; and three sisters: Ruby Lamison, Virginia Remaley and Katherine Traister.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9PM today, Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home in Kittanning.
Additional visitation will be held from 10AM tomorrow, Saturday, December 8, 2012 , until funeral services at 11AM in the funeral home.
The Rev. Fred Kison and the Rev. Richard Beatty will co-officiate.
Interment will follow in Kittanning Cemetery.
