OBIT: Carl T. Lloyd (Ford City)

Carl T. Lloyd, 86, of Ford City, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012, in Kittanning Care Center.

Born April 7, 1926, in Manor Township, he was a son of the late Thomas H. and Mary (Gray) Loyd.

A veteran of the United States Army, he served during World War II.

He retired from Freeport Transport, after many years of service as a truck driver.

He was a member of Crooked Creek Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed talking, truck driving, and watching movies, espcially John Wayne films

Carl is survived by his wife, Ethel Lucille (Delp) Lloyd, whom he married on June 24, 1949; three children: Linda Sybert of Kittanning, Thomas (Shirley) Lloyd of Ford City, and LuAnn (David) McGuire of Apollo; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, James Sybert; one brother; five sisters; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 7-9 PM today, Thursday, December 6, 2012, in the Welch Funeral Home in Ford City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM tomorrow, Friday, December 7, 2012, with Rev. Steve Werth officiating.

Interment will be private.
