Pennsylvania State Police released details on a scam that affected an Adrian woman.
The unidentified 59-year-old responded to conversations with someone claiming to be with US Bank. Subsequently, she lost money through Walmart gift cards.
Investigating Officer Dylan Jones said the theft is considered crime by deception and will continue the investigation.
This Adrian woman is not the only one that was a scam victim. More than one-in-five adults surveyed in the Commonwealth failed a simple quiz designed to test their ability to recognize holiday scams. From bogus charities to “porch pirates,” consumer fraud and theft abound as we approach the end of the year.
