
A fire that began in a garage and spread into the residence of a South Bend Township home kept fire crews busy last night shortly before 10PM.
With no fire hydrants in the area, numerous companies with tankers were dispatched to fight the blaze that had engulfed the structure.
In addition to Elderton, Kiski, and Kittanning Township, companies from Indiana County responded with tankers.
A fire in Parks Township this morning shortly after 6AM injured two children, ages 2 and 5, and their mother, who were trapped on the second floor. They were flown to a Pittsburgh hospital. Persons at the scene said they suffered from smoke inhalation.
The house was on Dime Road near Airport Road. Dime Road will remained closed throughout the morning.
