The Leechburg School Board held its reorganization meeting on December 4th.
At the meeting, two new members, Lisa Gregory and Karen Frelino, were swore in, along with returning members Roxanne Thompson, Neil Brady and Anthony Shea.
The board held elections of its officers. Neil Brady was selected to serve again as President and Anthony Shea as Vice President. Ms Melanie Knight was select as PSBA representative. Neil Brady was selected as primary and Anthony Shea selected as alternate for the Armstrong County Tax Committee. Mr. Anthony Shea was selected for a three-year term as the Lenape Joint Operating representative.
The board also approved to offer an early retirement package to teachers. The package must have at least five takers to proceed. The early retirement package is expected to save the district approximately $1 million over 10 years.
