
As shown in this photo from last year, wall-to-wall crowds are expected for tomorrow afternoon’s “Festival of Lights” in Ford City.
Santa Claus is expected to make his annual appearance during the Festival of Lights tomorrow afternoon in Ford City.
The event, themed “Seussified Christmas on Candy Cane Lane”, is scheduled from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Saturday, November 30. It is sponsored by the Ford City Renaissance Community Partnership.
A parade will begin at 3:00 PM, starting at the corner of Third Avenue and 10th Street, escorting Santa to Nextier Bank. Free visits with Santa will continue until 6PM. Treats for children will also be available (as long as supplies last).
At 4:00, there will be a special performance on the main stage by the Center Stage Dance Studio. Live musical entertainment will take the stage at 4:30, followed by Songs for Young Whippersnappers – Holiday Hoppia at 5:00. Local vocalist that has made national appearances, Miss Anna Oberneder, will sing at 6PM. At 6:30, the Armstrong High School Drama Club will grace the stage for a special performance.
Other activities throughout the afternoon will include free horse & carriage rides, train rides, balloon artistry, fire truck rides, live reindeer and petting zoo, and much more.
The grand finale in the Festival of Lights will be a full holiday fireworks display at 7PM.
