11/06/1969 - Jack Fuelhart of the Tionesta TV Cable Service addressed Rimersburg councilmen during their latest meeting. Fuelhart said 180 homes in the Rimersburg area showed definite interest in the proposed cable system, according to a survey taken by the Tionesta company. He also outlined three methods of installation which could be used, should the council approve the plan.

11/06/1969 - Replacing the Rev. Fred Walters as pastor of North Buffalo Brethren Church, Kittanning RD 4, is the Rev. Thomas E. Goossens in his first pastorate.

11/06/1969 – Dedication of the new Dayton American Legion Building will be held today. Armstrong County Judge J. Frank Graff will be the main speaker at a 6:30 pm dinner event. The Dayton Auxiliary of the Post will furnish the meat and potatoes for the dinner.

11/06/1969 - A total of 13 retired railroaders were honored at the first annual banquet of the United Transportation Union, Trainmen Lodge 753 at a banquet in the White Star Club, Freeport. Retirees honored were: Jess Cavalini, George Coward, Walter Hawk, M. N. “Brownie” Humes, Art Keller, Frank V. McGuire, William R. “Buccsie” Plants, Anthony Rutkoski, Elmer Schoentag, Clyde Slagle, and John Yancy. Master of Ceremonies for the dinner dance was Robert Stein, president of the local union.

11/06/1969 – Larry walker, son of Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Walker Jr of Kittanning RD6, has completed basic training at Fort Jackson, SC. A 1969 graduate of Kittanning High School, he entered the Army Sept. 5. Walker was employed by Foodland Market in McGrann as stockboy and cashier.

11/06/1964 - There will be 36 seniors on Kit-Ha-Ne Field Saturday afternoon when the Wildcats and Ford City clash in the 41st renewal of their series. The Sabers entire defensive and offensive units are seniors, as are 12 Wildcats.

11/06/1959 - Recent goldenweds were Mr. and Mrs. Miles Schrecengost, who have lived almost their entire married life at their Dayton RD 2 farm.

11/06/1959 - Volunteer workers will lay a 12-inch sewer at the proposed ice skating pond at Old Quarries, off the Ford City-Cadogan Road.

11/06/1959 - Ford City Municipal Sewage Disposal Authority has been notified that its application for a $238,000 federal grant was not among those certified, according to a report by the State Department of Health.

11/06/1944 - Suffering from shotgun wounds of the face and head, a 44-year-old Rural Valley man was admitted to Indiana Hospital for treatment.

11/06/1944 - Seaman 3-C Arthur Lawrence Rush, 23-year-old Navy man who had returned from 22 months’ duty in the South Pacific area, was killed when a truck overturned on Route 422 a mile west of Worthington. This was the second fatal accident of four which have occurred near a dangerous curve in the road.

11/06/1939 - Mild temperatures and overcast skies prevailed over Armstrong County in the wake of a snowstorm that whitened hillsides.

11/06/1939 - Armstrong County’s second hunting victim, Raymond McMunn, 18-year-old Ford City district youth, had his right hand so badly torn when his shotgun discharged accidently that the member had to be amputated at the wrist in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.

11/06/1929 - The congregation of Ford Memorial Methodist Church Ford City, is planning a reception in honor of the new pastor, the Rev. A. K. Travis and family.

11/06/1929 - Only one out of every six voters in Kittanning went to the polls yesterday. George W. Shaffer was elected sheriff; William A. Ahse, district attorney, and R. W. McCutcheon and J. S. Spang, jury commissioners.
