Commissioners Jason Renshaw and Pat Fabian delay information regarding money received from sale of Health Center until after the election.
Current county commissioners have sidelined questions regarding the sale of the Health Center until after the elections today.
The Kittanning Paper submitted a Right-To-Know request for basic information on the disposition of funds that was all basic accounting information such as:
- Where is the money received from the sale of the Health Center located?
- How much was deposited?
- If it is in an investment fund, name of fund, type of fund, interest be earned.
- What transfers have been made from that fund to other funds (included but not limited to capital projects, etc.)
- How is the money being allocated for future use? (i.e. including but not limited to payroll, capital projects [parking lot, cupolo, etc] )
The request came as a result of limited information given at the debate where current commissioners/candidates Jason Renshaw and Pat Fabian gave limited information and alluded to the fact that money has already been spent from the fund to balance the budget in order to not raise taxes during an election year.
Instead of responding in the required five days, the request is being forwarded to the county solicitor for a “legal review”. This delays the response by as much as 30 days.
Candidate Anthony Shea criticized incumbents for not acknowledging or processing his Right-To-Know request.
“We typically wait to the last day to respond,” Fabian said generally speaking of most Right-To-Know requests that the county receives.
