A one-vehicle accident in Cowanshannock Township sent a Cabot woman to ACMH Hospital on Saturday morning.
Nancy Black, 83, was traveling eastbound on Route 85, approximately 1,302 feet west of the Margaret Road intersection. Pennsylvania State Police Investigating Trooper Greg Durick reported Black fell asleep at the wheel while attempting to negotiate a slight left curve within the roadway. The initial impact occurred as her 2013 Subaru Legacy traveled off the roadway and struck a utility pole approximately five feet off the roadway. The vehicle then traveled down an embankment and struck a tree head-on.
Black was transported to ACMH Hospital by Citizens Ambulance Service with undisclosed injuries.
