North Buffalo Home Spared from Christmas Eve Fire

Kittanning Hose Company #1 engine sits outside a residence on Gellner Lane in North Buffalo Township on Monday night.

Area firefighters responded to an alarm at a North Buffalo Township home on Christmas Eve.

A call came to the 9-1-1 Dispatch Center at 7:41 PM, stating that smoke was coming from a home on Gellner Lane.

Dispatchers notified Kittanning Hose Company #1, West Kittanning, West Hills, the Rapid Intervention Team from Kittanning Hose Company #6, and the Kittanning Hose Company #6 Ambulance.

According to firemen on the scene, the smoke came from a shorted wall outlet. The residence experienced only minor smoke damage. The house was ventilated and the firemen returned to station.

9-1-1 dispatchers reported a quieter Christmas Day.
