Two Freeport Men Killed in Sunday Night Crash

Daniel Lee Fullerton, Jr, 49, of Freeport and Gregory Sabattini, 57, also of Freeport were fatally injured Sunday night while traveling south on Freeport Road in South Buffalo Township.

Fullerton was driving southbound in a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer at approximately 9:40 PM. The vehicle left the roadway on the right side while trying to negotiate a left hand curve. When the vehicle came back on the roadway, the vehicle went sideways striking a northbound 2015 Honda Pilot driven by John Clark of South Dakota. Fullerton’s vehicle then overturned landing on its roof 35-feet from the middle of the roadway.

Fullerton and his passenger, Gregory Sabattini, were both killed in the crash. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene by Armstrong County Coroner Brian K. Myers. Neither was wearing a seatbelt. The causes of death are both multiple blunt force trauma manner of death will be ruled accidental. A toxicology report is pending.

The Coroner’s office was assisted at the scene by fire departments from South Buffalo Township, Freeport, and Harrison Hills, in addition to Freeport Ambulance, and Pennsylvania State Police – Kittanning.
