At its regularly scheduled meeting held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, the ARIN Intermediate
Unit 28 Board of Directors completed the following:
NEW BUSINESS
Under new business in the area of Personnel, three employments, and one change in employment status, were discussed and acted upon as follows:
Employment of IU Staff
Approved and authorized the employment of:

- Ms. Michelle Murdick, full time secretary specialist, retroactive to October 1, 2018.
- Ms. Murdick’s hourly rate will be $10.98 per hour and her benefits will be in
accordance with the AESP Collective Bargaining Agreement; - Mr. Corey Horgan, part-time financial intern at Riverview Intermediate Unit 6
retroactive to October 15, 2018 through May 31, 2019. Mr. Horgan’s hourly rate will be $8.00 per hour; and, - Mr. Noah Bella, part-time financial intern at Riverview Intermediate Unit 6
retroactive to October 15, 2018 through May 31, 2020. Mr. Bella’s hourly rate will be $8.00 per hour.
Change in Employment Status
Approved and authorized a change in the employment status of Ms. Kimberly Rode from full
time school psychologist to full time director of special education effective December 1,
2018. Ms. Rode’s annual salary will be $95,000 prorated to days worked and her benefits
will be in accordance with the Act 93 Agreement.

The ARIN board discussed and acted upon the following resolutions:
Approved and authorized the following agreements/contracts:

- Executive Director, James J. Wagner, to enter into a service agreement on behalf of the Intermediate Unit, with Collins Education Associates, LLC. The Agreement would authorize the ARIN Curriculum Department to host John Collins for two writing workshops, November 15 and 16, 2018, with the trainer costs not to exceed $4,400;
- Revised agreement between VNA Extended Home Care and ARIN IU 28 under which an LPN will be used for transportation Services according to the following fee schedule:$200.00 if staying with student all day – up to 5 hours
$160.00 per bus run if going out of county – up to 4 hours
$175.00 for two students per bus run if going out of county – up to 4 hours
$145.00 per bus run if staying in county – up to 4 hours
$160.00 for two students per bus if staying in county – up to 4 hours
If time with student(s) exceeds the above guidelines, client will be charged using standard payroll rounding methodology units of 15 minutes at the rate of $10.00 per unit for the period of August 16, 2018 through June 30, 2019; and, - The extension of Agreement for Services between Indiana University of Pennsylvania Research Institute (IUP-RI) and ARIN IU 28 for evaluation services for the 21st Century Learning Grant at a cost of $37,587.00 (United Cohort 7) retroactive to September 1, 2018, through August 31, 2021. End date of amendment is October 31,
2022.
