Driver Hits House, Child Injured

A driver could be cited for driving while intoxicated following a crash early Sunday morning in Rural Valley.

The accident occurred shortly after 2AM at 216 West Main Street. An unidentified 23-year-old man from Rural Valley hit a parked vehicle located on the side of the road. The driver attempted to gain control of his vehicle, but was unable, and went off the side of the road and hit the house located at 216 West Main Street. An unidentified eight-year-old child was hit by the debris from the vehicle coming into the room of the residence where he was residing. The eight-year-old suffered a minor back injury.

Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Elliott said the drive showed signs of impairment. He was taken to ACMH Hospital where a blood test was administered. Charges are pending the result of the lab results.
