7/20/1963 - A mother of four suffered a fractured leg early today when a car she was riding in ran off Old Route 422 near Walk Chalk, knocked out a telephone pole and landed on a parked car. Betty L. Goodman, 25, of Worthington RD1, was riding with the driver, Donald H. Goodman, 30 at 1AM. The vehicle ran out of control, left the highway sideswiping one pole, taking out another before it came to rest atop a parked car owned by William Wyant of Kittanning RD3. Donald Goodman, 7, Christopher Goodman, 5, Rick Goodman, 4, and Michael Goodman, 2, were treated for cuts and bruises at the hospital.
7/20/1968 - Five persons were treated in the hospital emergency room for injuries in separate accidents. Alan Bowser, 8, of New Bethlehem RD2, is listed in satisfactory condition with injuries to the left foot suffered when his foot was caught in a power lawn mower. Eugene Farster, 30, of Templeton RD1, was treated for cuts on the head received in an auto accident in Mahoning. Edith Schrecengost, 50, of 123 Sunset Street, Pattonville, bruised her left eyebrow and back in a fall down ten steps. Timothy Adams, 12, of Templeton RD1, suffered cuts on the scalp when he fell and his head hit a board. Cecil Kimble, 27, of Ford City RD4, received injuries to the left rib cage when he reportedly fell against a truck at work.
7/20/1963 - Members of the Kittanning High School class of 1943 will get together for their 20 year reunion at Kittanning Country Club. Class officers are James McIntyre, president; Ardell Lowery, vice president; Mrs. Kathleen Delp Ochs, secretary; and Dr. Thomas McKee, treasurer.
7/20/1953 - A 2nd official one said today that Kittanning Area Secondary School System cannot proceed with plans for construction of a new junior/senior high school plant here without acquiring land owned by Kittanning Free Methodist Church.

7/20/1943 - 3 days after Dr. R. H. Fichthorn of McGrann had placed more than 300 small chickens in a coop on a newly purchased farm near McGrann, all but one of the chickens were stolen, police said today.
7/20/1938 - Armstrong County’s list of surviving Civil War veterans was thinned to 4 Saturday morning with the death of John Shaffer, 93 years, 4 months, and 26 days. He died at the home of a son, Park Shaffer, of New Bethlehem.
