7/19/1968 - The Ford City Borough Water Filtration Plant on Neale Avenue is undergoing its first major improvement since it went into operation in 1924. Phase I called for the cleaning and coating of the elevated wash water tank. Council members Zigmond Cleply, WIlliam Monroe, Ivan Peck, John Englert, Joseph Trimarchi and Ford City Mayor John Hand have worked for the improvement of the plant.
7/19/1968 - Pvt. John A. Walter, son of Mr & Mrs. Paul M. Walter of Templeton, left for duty in Worms, Germany this morning. A 1965 graduate of Dayton High School and a 1967 graduate of Penn Technical Institute, he enlisted in the Army February 8 of this year and completed basic training at Ford Gordon, GA. A clerk-typist, his last duty station was Fort Polk, LA.

7/19/1963 - Ford City took over first place in the Armstrong County Connie Mack League last night by winning at home over Kittanning 7-3. In another game Apollo won its first victory by downing Shannock Valley 16-5 in Dayton.
7/19/1963 - A 9-year-old Walkchalk girl was seriously injured yesterday when a runaway car pinned her for some 45 minutes on an embankment at the edge of the parking lot for Butler County Memorial Hospital.

7/19/1943 - Floating with her mother on an inflated inner tube in the Allegheny River at Mosgrove, a 17-month-old child fell into the water and was drowned.
7/19/1943 - Ford City- The sum of $200 has been collected by citizens of McGrann, South McGrann, and Bellwood Garden communities towards the purchase of a military service honor roll and flagpole. The movement was started by Manor Twp firemen.
7/19/1938 - PA’s Golden Jubilee Christian Endeavor convention, 11-16 July in Hershey, was attended by over 2000 people from all over the state. Armstrong County was represented by 23 delegates, 8 of whom were county officers.
7/19/1938 - John M. Wylie, Apollo druggist injured 9 July in the bridge opening celebration for which he was chiefly responsible, is still a patient in Allegheny Valley Hospital, but is reported improving. He was painfully cut about the legs as a berserk auto cycle ran into a crowd.
7/19/1933 - Approx. $40,000 is expected to be spent for relief work in Armstrong County this month, it was learnt today. The amount, for the state appropriation for July, is a greater sum than has ever before been spent during any month to the present time.
