Armstrong outfielders stand ready for action during Wednesday night’s 10-8 win.
A rainy day in Worthington ended in triumph when the Armstrong Black team defeated the Butler Golden Tornados by the score of 10 to 8.
Multiple rain delays and a tornado weather warning could not stop the young 9-10-year-old girls from putting on a show for their fans. Trailing most of the game, Armstrong Black put together a six-run 5th inning and never looked back. The big inning consisted of a triple, two doubles, and five singles.
The opposing team’s coaches helped young pitchers when accuracy was tough to come by, by coming on to pitch to the batters. This gave every batter a fair chance to put the ball in play.
The newly constructed Armstrong Athletics’ mission is to ensure sportsmanship. Armstrong Athletics’, which is in its first year of operation, is a merger between Kittanning Little League and West Armstrong Athletics. The goal of the league is to bring the community together while minimizing travel for its members.
Armstrong Black will be back in action tonight for their final game of the season against Armstrong Orange. Come out and support both teams at Jud Field – Field 1 at 6:00.
