After the Senior Night festivities concluded Friday evening at David “Red” Ullom Field, the River Hawks put a whooping on the visiting Connellsville Falcons - winning 57-22.

It was all Armstrong from the beginning as they play their final game at the old field before moving to the new stadium on the Armstrong High School campus.

The River Hawks started off their scoring in the first when Dawson Porter connected with Josh Hepler for his first of five passing touchdowns on the day before Jalen Price ran the ball in for the 2-point conversion.

By half-time, the game was already out of hand for the Falcons. Armstrong would take a 36-0 score into the locker room.

The Kittanning Fox’s Pizza Player of the Game was undoubtedly Dawson Porter. On the night, Porter completed 9 of 10 passes for 162 yards and 5 touchdowns while rushing for 84 yards and 1 TD.

Receiving wise for Armstrong, a lot of River Hawks got to catch the ball Friday. Sophomore Isaiah Price lead the way with 2 catches for 51 yards and 2 TD’s, Tanner Stivason, Josh Hepler, and Devin Goodgasell all finished with 1 TD on the game.

After the game, River Hawks Head Coach Frank Fabian said this win felt like “one of the good old days.”

“One of our coach’s made the comment that it felt like the good old days tonight when we were going up and down the field. It’s kind of a fitting way for us to close out this stadium and the last five years we’ve been here we’ve been putting up points. Tonight to get back to that with a lot of kids scoring, some for the first time – I’m happy for those guys,” Fabian said.

The River Hawks will take a short trip for their final game of the season as they travel to Kiski to take on the Cavaliers. Kick-off is set for 7:00 PM, but as always you can tune into WTYM starting at 6:30.
