State Police have released safety statistics for the four-day Memorial Day holiday driving period. State Police investigated a total of 757 crashes during the Memorial Day travel period which ran from last Friday through Monday. The crashes resulted in 178 injuries and nine fatalities. Spokesman and State Police Corporal Adam Reed says a number of crashes involved alcohol. Troopers made 550 arrests for driving under the influence and issued 13,916 speeding tickets over the long holiday weekend…1,256 people were cited for not wearing seat belts.
