Kline Keeping Pace in Mayoral Run

Scott Kline

Scott Kline, a lifelong resident of Kittanning Borough, has announced his candidacy for Mayor. The Republican candidate’s name will appear in the third spot on he ballot in the May 16 Primary Election.

Kline, who is currently a Commercial Sales Manager for Good Tire Service in Kittanning, intends to use his 25+ years of managerial experience to work together with borough officials, businesses, churches, community groups, and residents to bring back the pride of his hometown.

“I grew up here. I went to school here. I go to church here and I work here,” he said. “I take pride in this community. I’ve learned core values from two loving parents. My family attends the Kittanning Church of God and I have been a fire chief at Kittanning Hose Company #6 for 16 years of the 32 years that I have been in fire service. I have learned that making a real difference in people’s lives is what matters most. Kittanning is my hometown and my intention is to work together with everyone to bring back the pride of this community.”

If elected, Kline said he is eager to work with the police force, as well as other local, county, and state officials.

“Kittanning has always been such a wonderful town. I want people to find this is a great place to come and live. As Mayor, I would especially look forward to working with the borough police department, the county, and state officials to clean up the drug epidemic in our town and move them out,” Kline said.

“Another goal of mine is to work with community groups such as Habitat for Humanity and the local Crime Watch groups, as well as our local street department, fire departments, and codes enforcement officer to make our town more desirable. I have learned that you usually get more done when you work with people as a T.E.A.M. - Together Everyone Achieves More!”

Kline attended a town hall meeting last August and was pleased to see so many residents in attendance. He wants to make town hall meetings a quarterly event.

“I believe that the residents need to be heard. This is their hometown too, and they have every right to voice their happiness or concerns. We need to understand that they elect the town officials to work for them.”

He continued stating that he feels gatherings such as town hall meetings are building blocks of a stronger community.

“It will give residents an opportunity to be included and see the long-term goals, as well as help make them happen.”

“As Mayor, it will be my desire to be accessible to the people. I would run an open door policy and have evening hours certain days each month. Although I know that texting, calling, and emailing are the way of the world today, I would like to be more old-school and have face-to-face conversations. If you want to come up on my porch to chat, I’d be happy to do that.”

Kline is moving ahead with a clear and open mind, and says that he has been blessed with a superb support team beside him, including his girlfriend, Crystal Corson, his four children, Zachary, Allison, Matthew, and Natasha, as well as Corson’s two sons, Shawn and TJ - plus many other family members and friends.

“The outpouring of support has been phenomenal and I look forward to a successful campaign and serving the Kittanning residents as their next Mayor.”
