The Armstrong River Hawks boys varsity baseball team defeated North Hills in dramatic fashion on Wednesday, and though they were ready to play Friday the game was pushed back to Saturday.

The River Hawks were able to earn their second victory of the season Wednesday afternoon thanks in large part by their starting pitcher Andy Fennell.

Fennell pitched a near perfect game, recording 8 strikeouts while allowing just 2 hits and 1 earned run in 7 innings before Noah Cyphert’s walk-off single sent Jacob Parisi home for the go ahead run.

The River Hawks varsity baseball team was initially set to play at Fox Chapel on Friday at 4:00 PM, but the game had to be moved to Saturday at 12:00 PM.

In other River Hawks news, the varsity softball team will be looking to bounce back from their Wednesday loss to Franklin Regional Monday at home against Woodland Hills at 3:45.
