Multiple police agencies are searching for a male suspected of robbing a NexTier Bank branch in Manor Township yesterday.

According to Manor Township Police, the robbery occurred at the Route 422 branch on Burton Drive at 2:25PM.

The actor was not in custody as of this morning, but Manor Township and Pennsylvania State Police officials suspect a six-foot-tall white male, approximately 20-30 years of age and 150-160 pounds, wearing a black sweatshirt with green and pink “Snap on” lettering, black or grey Under Armour brand sweat pants and a black knit cap.

State Police added that the male brandished a revolver and received an unknown amount of money from the teller before fleeing the bank in an unknown direction.

Nobody was reportedly injured during the course of the robbery.

In addition to Manor Township and Pennsylvania State Police officers, Armstrong County Sheriff’s Department, Kittanning Borough, West Kittanning Borough and Gilpin Township Police officers also responded to the incident.

Bank officials closed the branch for the remaining few hours about 3PM, but did not announce if there would be any closings today.

The same branch was also robbed of $1,350 in an afternoon of February 2015, but no weapons were shown during the incident.

Matthew James Crossman, now 29, of Marion Center, was sentenced by Armstrong County President Judge Kenneth Valasek in November of that year to serve 30-60 months (or up to five years) in a state Department of Corrections facility for his role in the robbery.

Crossman was charged with nearly a dozen crimes stemming from the robbery – including six felonies (such as three different robbery counts, criminal mischief and flight to avoid apprehension) – before pleading guilty to felony robbery in September.

The bank – a former F&M Bank branch – was robbed in January 2014.

William Carl Mathews, Jr., 48 of Greensburg (Westmoreland County) was initially charged with a total of more than 50 criminal offenses – including 19 counts of first-class robbery and eight counts of robbing a financial institution – before Westmoreland County District Magisterial Judge Charles Christner in New Stanton for the local robbery, at First National Bank in Herminie and at First Commonwealth Bank in New Stanton.

No one was injured in the commission of the January 2014 robbery, but Mathews, Jr. plead guilty in January 2015 to three felony counts of robbery while making threats of injury and was sentenced to serve 10-20 years of confinement.

Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police at 724-543-2011, Manor Township Police at 724-763-9677 or 9-1-1 emergency.
