Ford City Borough Launches New Website

Access to the latest Ford City Borough news, forms and social media updates is now available on the new municipality website.

In a press release released yesterday by Interim Borough Manager Michael Greenlee, the new municipal website – www.fordcityborough.org – has been designed to provide ultimate user-friendly experience with improved navigation and functionality throughout, allowing citizens to access detailed documents and ordinances with the option to share information across all major social networking sites.

Council Vice-President Tyson Klukan has been the project coordinator behind the development of the new website, along with assistance from the Pennsylvania State Boroughs Association. He added that the new website has been designed to be compatible with Internet browsers and mobile devices.

“The Pennsylvania State Borough Association has been excellent to work with during this six month process. The knowledge of website creation from layout to the final product and professionalism of service has made it a very simple process for us,” Klukan said.

The site also promotes an interactive calendar, gives citizens the ability to download printable permits and forms and includes contacts and information about multiple departments – including Borough Council.

“The new website means that citizens can now benefit from richer online content that is easier to navigate and share with others, and search for information quickly. This is a result of talking with businesses and gaining feedback from constituents,” Klukan said.

Council President Carol Fenyes lauded the new website’s functionality, deeming it “fantastic.”

“The goal is to keep the citizens informed of news within the borough and I believe this site will do just that,” Fenyes concluded.

Former Website Administrator Ryan Bloser constructed the original website – www.fordcityborough.com – before he graduated from high school in 2002. Ford City Borough paid roughly $135 per year for the web service in the past, but the website had not been updated since August 2011.

Former Borough Manager Eden Ratliff also had plans to rebuild the website last year, but council went in a different direction.
