Kittanning Man Attacks State Trooper, Property
A Kittanning man is charged with more than a half-dozen crimes after attacking a Pennsylvania State Police trooper in Winfield Township (Butler County) late-Sunday night.
According to the police report, the unnamed, intoxicated male from Kittanning locked himself into a residence without the homeowner’s consent. When State Police arrived, he became irate by kicking a coffee table and charging a trooper. The male also reportedly resisted when police tried to place him in handcuffs and guide him to a patrol car.
The suspect also is accused of spitting through the opening of the cage and hitting the responding trooper in the right hand.
In addition to the public drunkenness, criminal trespass, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and aggravated assault charges, while on station, police allege that a metal smoking pipe was found in the suspect’s jacket pocket - causing a charge of possessing paraphernalia.
