Armstrong Girls Remain Undefeated After a Dominant Win Against Knoch 57-17
The Armstrong River Hawks Girls Varsity Basketball team earned their 6th win of the year Monday night thanks to a dominant first half where Kenzie Lasher (12), Abbey DiGregorio (10), and Taylor Wood (11) (Pictured) combined for 33 of the River Hawks 34 points.

It was a lights out performance both offensively and defensively for the Armstrong River Hawks (6-0) as they limited the Knoch Knights (1-3) to only 17 points on the day en route to a 57-17 win.
The girls were disappointed with their offensive performance after Friday’s 32-28 win over Freeport, so Monday night’s win was a good bounce back performance according to Armstrong Head Coach Kirk Lorigan.
“We had a really bad offensive showing Friday even though we stole a win at Freeport. Offensively we were just out of sink the whole time and we talked a lot about just coming out and being ourselves offensively , being efficient offensively, and getting the shots that we like to take and the good thing was our scorers were in a good position to get those shots. Kenzie, Abbey, and Taylor got in those spots and they were knocking down shots early which got us into a nice offensive rhythm,” Lorigan said.
Efficient offense might be an understatement for Kenzie, Abbey, and Taylor’s performance as the dynamic trio knocked down 33 of Armstrong’s 34 first half points – including a 10 point first quarter from Abbey, three 3-pointers from Taylor, and 12 first half points for Kenzie.

The game Monday night marks the final non-section game before the girls travel to face their first section opponent in Franklin Regional on Thursday.
Starting out 6-0 is as good as any team can ask for and Kirk Lorigan is hoping that this hot start will carry over to section play.
“Our section is good and going to Franklin Regional, they’re well coached and they can put points on the board. We go one day at a time, I think it is one of the tougher sections in 5A and we know we have to bring our A game every night. So this game (against Knoch) offensively and defensively gives us a little bit of momentum heading into that direction, so I’m really happy about that. WE know we have our work cut out for us with these section games, but I couldn’t be more excited starting 6-0”, Lorigan said.
