As part of last week’s “A Sparking New Christmas” celebration in downtown Kittanning, a local establishment was also awarded a trophy for their themed-window display.
And the trophy for 2016 was passed along to AttaBoyz – for their rendition of Market Street following the Kittanning Revitalization Project and the new light poles and decorations.
A manager from AttaBoyz estimated it took about a week to decorate the window facing South Jefferson Street.
Downtown Kittanning, Inc. Board Representative Lynda Pozzuto said 19 businesses entered the contest this year.
“And that is the largest number we’ve ever had!” Pozzuto said. “I have to tell you, it was so hard to pick. If you look at these windows, it’s worth it for someone to take the time and walk up-and-down Market Street, McKean, Jefferson because there are some gorgeous windows.
“Next year, we need to add some more categories so more people can get prizes.”
Pozzuto said the “A Sparkling New Christmas” theme was viewed in different ways.
“But, they were all sparkly,” Pozzuto concluded.
Windows were judged by Carol Deberelle, of Natrona Heights, Matt and Holly Ardeno – who work for the Progressive Workshop and ESS Insurance, respectively) and Jay Ripple, of Export for about an hour Thursday evening.
