West Shamokin Soccer Makes Marked Improvement
To say the West Shamokin Wolves varsity soccer team improved from last season would be the understatement of a century. Last season the Wolves went from winning five games in the 2015 season and this year the Wolves posted a conference best 12-3 season. West Shamokin took the Heritage Conference by storm this year with volleyball, soccer, and football all reaching the playoffs. The Wolves went on to face the Bedford Bisons in the first round of the playoffs. Unfortunately for the Wolves this is where their season ended as the Bisons scored early in the first half and protected their lead defeating West Shamokin 1-0. There is a lot to be proud about after this season though, as it was only the second time in school history the Wolves soccer team made the playoffs.
