Armstrong Gets Upset In the First Round to Gateway 38-20
The Armstrong River Hawks went 9-1 in the regular season earning them a home playoff game Friday against the Gateway Gators
River Hawks stud running-back Zane Dudek was injured early in the first half and would not return for the rest of the game which meant trouble for Armstrong.
After Dudek went down the Gators took a 21-0 lead, but Armstrong did make things interesting.
The River Hawks would claw back to a 31-20 deficit thanks to a rushing touchdown from Zac Aretz and two passing touchdowns from QB Michael Lhote - one to Derek Grafton and the other to Ryan Pearce.
Gateway will play McKeesport next week in the WPIAL Class 5A semi-finals.
