West Shamokin Football Falls to Westmont Hilltop 16-12

The West Shamokin Wolves (5-6) season came to an end on Saturday when they lost to the Westmont Hilltop Hilltoppers (7-4) in the first round of the Division 6 Class AA playoffs by a final score of 16-12.

The Wolves found themselves down early after Hilltoppers running-back Tucker Kushner scored his first touchdown of the day to make the score 6-0.

In the second quarter Jacob Szul scored a rushing touchdown to even the score at 6-6. Szul also had an interception in the second quarter, but at half the score stayed 6-6.

After a Westmont Hilltop field goal in the third the Wolves scored on the following possession thanks to another rushing TD from Jacob Szul.

In the fourth Tucker Kushner scored his second rushing touchdown of the game to give the Hilltoppers the 16-12 victory.

Westmont Hilltop will now go on to face Ligonier Valley this Friday at a neutral site.
