West Shamokin Loses in Double Overtime Against Northern Cambria 12-6

West Shamokin (4-5) suffered another heartbreaking loss Friday at the hands of the Northern Cambria Colts in double overtime 12-6.

West Shamokin was able to strike first when Dan Goldstrohm carried the ball 13 yards for his first touchdown of the season and the first varsity touchdown of his career.

After the Goldstrohm touchdown the Wolves failed a 2-point conversion play and the score would remain 6-0 until the fourth quarter.

In the fourth quarter Colts QB Mark Marino threw a touchdown pass to tie the game 6-6.

No one would score in the fourth quarter sending the game to overtime. Both teams failed to score in the first overtime. In the second overtime the Colts started with the ball and Marino was able to connect with Nick Kirsch for the game winning touchdown.

After the game I caught up with Austin Mills and Austin Harris.

I also caught up with Coach McCullough who said he has never been more proud of a team in a loss.

Next Friday the Wolves will take on a West PAC team to be announced Saturday.
