West Shamokin Cross Country Faced Off Against Armstrong for Senior Night

The West Shamokin cross country team hosted the Armstrong River Hawks as the Wolves celebrated their seniors on Tuesday as a part of their senior night.

West Shamokin has a senior heavy team as they had a total of eight runners celebrated for senior night. After all was said and done West Shamokin cross country coach Christie Orlosky said “I thought (senior night) went well. We had a couple of personal records (times), so we’re happy with that.”

The Armstrong boys came out on top defeating the Wolves 15-47 and for the girls West Shamokin defeated the River Hawks 21-39.

The top three times for West Shamokin girls was Larissa Kijowski (22:43), Emma Fetchko (24:02), and Keely Kijowski (25:22). For the River Hawks the top three girl finishes were Michaela Landgraf (25:03), Christina Andreassi (28:26), and Laken Moore (29:02)

For the Armstrong boys, the top three finishers were Hunter Wolve (18:12), William Kean (18:55), and Mike Dobransky (19:15). For the Wolves their top three included Ken Muth (20:10), Andy Muth (20:12), and Hunter Kaplin (20:33).

West Shamokin will travel to Marion Center for the Heritage Conference Championship this Thursday before heading to the District 6 Championship on Saturday, October 29th. As for Armstrong they have one more meet at home against Burrel before heading to WPIAL’s at Cooper’s Lake.
