West Shamokin Wins Third Straight Against Marion Center

by Jake DeLuca

The West Shamokin Wolves (3-2) first season in the Heritage Conference started out slow, but the Wolves are rolling now after winning their third straight game this time against the Marion Center Stingers (0-5) by a final score of 18-7.

Marion Center received the ball to start the game and their QB Dylan Goss was able to score on the first drive of the game on a 1-yard QB after he completed a long pass to make the score 7-0 after the extra point.

That would be all the scoring the Stingers would do, however, as it was all West Shamokin the rest of the way out.

Wolves QB Devin Fairman was able to record his second three touchdown game of the season (the first was against Purchase Line). Fairman also lead the Wolves in rushing yards with 124 yards, and passed for 88 yards.

The Wolves defense pressured Goss all night and eventually proved to be too much for the quarterback as Goss threw a game deciding interception late in the fourth to Wolves DB Drew Orlosky.

With 1:57 left in the game, Fairman put the Stingers away with his third rushing score of the day.

The Wolves will travel to Ligonier Valley (5-0) to take on the undefeated Rams this Friday. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM.
