Kittanning Boy Hospitalized in Accidental Shooting

A nine-year-old boy was accidentally shot by a BB Gun Saturday afternoon in Rayburn Township.

According to Pennsylvania State Police troopers, the juvenile was alone in a yard along Clearfield Pike when he accidentally shot his left ring finger as his Daisy Patrol BB Gun malfunctioned. The BB became lodged in his finger.

The BB was removed and the boy’s wound sutured at ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township.

Perhaps that first line should have been written: “A nine-year old boy accidentally shot his left ring finger with a BB gun Saturday afternoon in Rayburn Township.”

I find it highly doubtful that the Daisy Patrol BB gun decided, on its own, to shoot at the boy’s finger.
