West Shamokin Football Falls to Blairsville

The West Shamokin Wolves went up against the Blairsville Bobcats on Friday August 26th at Memorial Field in Blairsville.

The Wolves fell to the Bobcats by a final score of 28-18.

West Shamokin was able to fight back in the second half. After being down 28-0 heading into half-time the Wolves were able to claw their way back into the game.

One of the players who was able to step it up in the second half and may have provided the spark to get back into the game was Senior Tight End and Outside Linebacker, Aaron Gray.

Gray explained that after halftime he told his coach that “he wanted their best player”. Gray would go on to intercept the ball early on in the third quarter for a touchdown - giving the Wolves their first score. Gray would also go on to recover a fumble later in the second half.

Wolves QB Devin Fairman would score two touchdowns, one by air and the other on the ground and running back Jacob Szul added 104 total yards and a receiving touchdown as well.
