Kittanning Man Accused of Wal-Mart Arson

Tanner Stroupe, 21 of Kittanning, is charged with eight felony charges – including four counts of arson – after Sunday night’s fire at Wal-Mart in East Franklin Township that sent a Ford City employee to a local hospital.
A Kittanning man has been accused of setting fire in a East Franklin Township store Sunday night.
Tanner Stroupe, 21, was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police troopers from the Kittanning barracks yesterday for causing about $10,000 worth of fire and smoke damage to Wal-Mart in Hilltop Plaza.
An employee – Dolly Anderson, 63 of Ford City – was also taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township to treat smoke inhalation.
According to unidentified store personnel, the fire originated in the clothing section of the men’s department. Another person said it was close to a fitting room.
Store video and witness statements were used during the investigation.
According to State Police, Wal-Mart employees were able to contain and extinguish the fire prior to local fire fighters arriving.
Stroupe is charged with eight felony charges – including four counts of arson, three counts of criminal mischief and causing catastrophe – as well as recklessly endangering another person and theft.
Stroupe was arraigned by District Magisterial Judge James Owen in Kittanning and jailed in the Armstrong County Jail on $100,000 cash or property bond.
His next court date is scheduled for 9AM on May 4.
According to online court documents, Stroupe was also arrested by Pennsylvania State Police after a February incident and is accused of felony theft and a trio of summary driving offenses.

The fire probably was a decoy.

Good news is that if Wal Mart burns to the ground, and as long as nobody is injured, nothing of quality is really lost!

would have been a better show had he set self on fire instead of the building.. what a jerk

Stupidpayingforit, what a stupid comment. There’s probably a million dollars worth of stuff in that store and all of it is valuable. Do you use a coffee maker? wear clothes? eat? sleep? drink beverages? hunt? fish? camp? cook out? sit on chairs? use medication? If so there’s plenty of things of value in that store.
Idiot! Go back to shining jennys shoes with snott starr

Suffice it to say, and this is the truth, you have more fingers on your hand than the total.number of times I have actually been.inside the wal mart.
When doing so, it is purely for something very cheap that I am 100 percent planning on treating as.disposable.
Theorize all you want, I don’t do wal mart.

“Good news is that if Wal Mart burns to the ground, and as long as nobody is injured, nothing of quality is really lost!”
sickofcommonsense- What about local jobs within the store? You whine when I question your intelligence, but you continually make comments like this. What an idiot.

Marc,
Anything you say is less-than-relevant to me. Feel free to explain your comment less. I don’t ever take them as anything more than killing time while on the public dime!
happy cyber-bullying/trolling!!!

@ Marc, It goes without question that the guy and his comments are a little Odd!

sickof-
Didn’t you say something last week about a comment of mind being bottom of the barrel or something like that? You obviously snuck one in last Friday and beat me out!

To Marc, I’ve bought plenty of good things at Wal*Mart.

@northendguy- That was sickof’s comment. The quotation marks are there because I was quoting her comment.
@sickofcommonsense- Of course anything I say is irrelevant to you. Judging by your intelligence level you deem plenty of logical things irrelevant.
I’m not certain why you think I work in the public sector (other than Jensen weakly stating this), but if it upsets you that much, I’m ok with you believing it.
I’m honestly quite surprised you can remember to breathe.
