16U Arrows Lose First Game at Nationals

The Armstrong Arrows 16U hockey team lost their first game at the Tier II Midget 16U National Championships in Wayne, New Jersey yesterday.

The Arrows lost 7-2 to the Alaska Oilers yesterday afternoon at Ice Vault Arena.

The Arrows had the lead 2-1 about two-and-a-half minutes into the second period after goals by Jace Rearic and Nick Benvenuti, but Alaska scored 20 seconds later on its way to six goals in a row.

Easton Hooks and Jerome Oliver registered assists on the Arrows’ goals

The Arrows are back on the ice at 11:30AM today versus the Phoenix Jr. Coyotes.
Phoenix is coming off of a 4-1 victory over the Fort Wayne Fury Elite.

The Arrows are slated to play the Fury Elite Saturday morning.

The Arrows must be in the top 2 of Tier III to move on to Sunday’s championship game.
