Local Radio Morning Show is Having a Senior Moment

Cheri Goldinger plays the piano at the Kittanning Senior Center as the Andrew sisters sing on February 17, 2016.
Local talk show host David Croyle has been taking his morning radio show, “David & Friends”, on the road to ten of the twelve senior centers in Armstrong County.
“I always like to do shows that are live on location. It is fun to interact with the audience and you just can’t predict the outcome,” Croyle said. “WTYM is Armstrong County’s hometown radio station, so what better way is there than to be in many of the hometowns where our listeners live!”
The road show takes place on Wednesdays between 9-11 AM and can be heard on the station’s 1000 watts of local power at 1380 AM. It is also available via the Internet at www.wtymradio.com or by downloading the free WTYM radio app for your smart phone.
Croyle said the show includes prizes supplied by Kittanning Care Center and ArmsCare. Lutheran Senior LIFE Armstrong is also providing production sponsorship.
In both Kittanning and Worthington, music was one of the main attractions that included sing-a-longs and dancing. They also played on-air games and bingo.

The dance floor was open at the Worthington Senior Center yesterday! John and Jean Katunich (left) and Earl and Barb Watterson dance to the music of “Senior Sensations” live band (Dick Younkins, Ray Waldenville, and Carl Lasher).
The next stop of the ten-week tour is next Wednesday, March 9, at the Freeport Senior Center. Other centers include:
March 16 - Leechburg
March 23 - Rural Valley
March 30 - Elderton
April 6 - Apollo
April 13 - Brady’s Bend
April 20 - Parker
April 27 - Ford City
Following the radio show, meals were available. To order meals at any of the centers, call the Area Agency on Aging office before 11:30 the day before the meal at 724-548-3290 or stop in at your local senior center.
