Downed Utilities Close Route 66
A stretch of highway was closed in Bethel Township for many hours yesterday morning and afternoon.
Route 66 was closed in both directions between Logansport Road and Dime Road in Bethel Township due to downed utilities.
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) crews advise motorists to check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, traffic speed information and view real-time traffic cameras by visiting the free website www.511PA.com
Officials also ask motorists to allow plenty of space when driving near plow trucks. For their own safety and the safety of plow operators, motorists are advised never to attempt to pass a truck while it is plowing or spreading winter materials.
