OBIT: Eva Marcinek (Ford City)
Eva Marcinek, 96, of Ford City, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016, in ACMH Hospital.
Born March 14, 1919 in Ford City, she was daughter of the late Jacob and Mary (Jula) Meleason.
She worked for Westinghouse as an executive secretary, and then retired from the Department of Welfare, after many years of service as a caseworker.
Eva was a member of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ford
City. She also was a longtime member of the ACMH auxiliary, and worked in the hospital gift shop.
Her family was very important to her, and she loved spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Eva also loved her morning walks on the Ford City trail.
Eva is survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stefan Marcinek; and nine brothers and sisters: Ann, Catherine, Mary, Rose, Martha, John, Peter, Andrew, and Paul.
At Eva’s request, there will be no public visitation, and private
services will be held for her family, with Father John Gribik, officiating.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Welch Funeral Home in Ford City.
Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
