Valley Dairy Honors Retiring Employee

Grace Watterson, who was employed by the Valley Dairy Restaurant in West Kittanning for over eleven years, retired this week.

A celebration in her honor was held at the restaurant on her last day with a homemade cake, flowers, and cards.

On hand to offer congratulations and wish her well with her future plans was the Director of Operations Tom Webb, District Manager Tony Karam, Corporate Trainer Dominic Meddis, and General Manager Jason Stivason.

Grace, a resident of Manorville, said she loved to cook and especially liked working with her cook staff. Her specific job at the restaurant was cooking eggs and omelettes and was especially proud that she could put up to 36 eggs on the grill.

When asked what she plans to do after retiring, Grace replied that she loves to read, particularly mystery novels. She also plans to do some baking at home.

Valley Dairy Restaurant released a statement offering their appreciation for her service. The statement said, in part: “The company believes that in our fast-paced world and an industry known for high employee turn-over, it is humbling and heart-warming to retain employees for any length of time.”

The location in Kittanning is one of eleven Valley Dairy Restaurants located in an eight-county area of western Pennsylvania.
