OBIT: Carrie Ann Cornman (Walkchalk)

Carrie Ann Cornman, 85, of Walkchalk, died Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, at Armstrong County Health Center.

She was born June 10, 1930, in Ford City, a daughter of the late Elmer and Helen (Osborne) Sipe, and was a lifelong member of the community. She as a member of West Glade Run Presbyterian Church, where she helped clean the church. She loved to prepare the funeral dinners and was a member of the Bible Study Group. Carrie was previously employed by Servamation for 14-1/2 years, where she worked as a hostess, stocking vending machines for PPG and the Mushroom Mines. Additionally, Carrie was a member of TOPS 369 of Kittanning and a former member of the Kittanning Women’s Club. She enjoyed baking, working on her lawn, playing cards and traveling with her family.

Survivors include sons, Thomas E. Cornman (Sissy), of DuBois, and Samuel A. Cornman (Barbara), of DuBois; daughter, Brenda Frerotte (Mike), of Ford City; grandsons, Tom Cornman, Bob Cornman (Lynn), Shannon Douglass, Nathanel Cornman and Jeffrey Johns; granddaughters, Corina (Frerotte) Troxler, Julie Johns; great-grandchildren, Taryn, Savannah and Chloe Cornman, Gavin Kruki, Alex Milligan, Keyera Douglass, Sammy Cornman, Gracie Cornman and Norma LaRue Troxler; sister-in-law, Dorothy Sipe, of Kittanning; and best friend, Sally Moody, of Kittanning.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Elmer W. Cornman; infant son, Elmer Richard Cornman; brother, James Sipe; and sister, Ernestine Kennedy.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home in Kittanning. Additional viewing from 10AM until time of a funeral service at 11AM Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at West Glade Run Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Colleen McFarland officiating. Interment in West Glade Run Presbyterian Cemetery.
